Skullkickers: The Digest Edition Campaign!

SKULLKICKERS: The Digest Edition campaign is now LIVE!

The sword & sorcery action-comedy series that kicked off Jim Zub’s writing career is back in a wonderful new compact-manga-sized format, perfect for reading, sharing, or giving as a gift to the fantasy fan in your life.

This campaign gets you the complete series and we have lots of wonderful extras like signatures, sketches, original art, game books and other add-ons – Please check it out and share the link far and wide!

As some of the middle volumes of the original trade paperbacks went out of print at Image, the numbers didn’t quite make sense to reprint them on their own, but that also meant retailers and readers couldn’t easily get the whole series. We talked about possibly doing an all-in-one omnibus but the reality is that although those big tomes look awesome on a bookshelf, they’re a pain to actually hold and read. We wanted to make sure new readers could easily discover the series and longtime fans could snag a copy for themselves in a format and price point that would work for everyone.

This 3-volume complete edition is perfect for retail and ideal for readers, with eye-catching new cover artwork by Edwin Huang and Misty Coats.

Go get ’em!

Skullkickers Minis Now Part of the Rum & Bones Kickstarter!

The Skullkickers have just been announced as part of the Rum & Bones board game Kickstarter! They’re an exclusive set of 5 figures (complete with their own character-centric rules) only available as part of the Kickstarter pre-order process.

Skullkickers-Rum&Bones01

Rum & Bones is the new pirate-themed board game by Cool Mini Or Not, creators of ‘Zombicide’. Zub had a chance to meet the Cool Mini crew at Gen Con and they talked about the possibility of teaming up in the future. Once they started work on Rum & Bones, they both felt it would be a great way to use the SK cast, especially since there was a pirate story in Volume 3, ‘Six Shooter on the Seven Seas’.

As you can see, the character archetypes from Skullkickers marry themselves well to the Rum & Bones play style and the miniature sculpts look awesome!

If you’re a board game fan or Skullkickers fan we hope you’ll click through to check out Rum & Bones (which wraps up pre-orders on December 28th) and tell your friends about it too. We can’t wait to battle it out with our very own skullkicking pirate crew!

Short Stories Are Tall Tales in Skullkickers #18

SHORT STORIES ARE TALL TALES IN SKULLKICKERS #18

Anthology issue of Image Comics series features top talent

Jim Zub\’s SKULLKICKERS is a cult hit, thanks to its hilarious writing, vibrant art, and, well, ample skull-kicking. The Image title has so much monster-bashing and face-smashing that it simply can\’t be expressed by one creative team. So, with SKULLKICKERS #18, some of independent comics\’ best and brightest will be pitching in with stories of their own in the latest \”Tavern Tales\” issue, a collection of short stories.

Included in the mix are John Layman and Rob Guillory (CHEW), Justin Jordan and Tradd Moore (THE STRANGE TALENT OF LUTHER STRODE), Blair Butler (HEART), Charles Soule (27), and J. Torres (Teen Titans Go!, Batman: The Brave and the Bold).

The spotlight is on Aubrey Sitterson and Ivan Anya, however — the creative team won the SKULLKICKERS Tavern Tales contest and will have their short story featured in SKULLKICKERS #18.

\”We put out the call to fans of Skullkickers or any creative comic creators at all — submit your Skullkickers short story ideas or submit a two-page sample of artwork based on a script excerpt we had posted at www.skullkickers.com,\” explained series creator and writer Zub. \”With over 300 entries, it was incredibly difficult narrowing it down to one writer and one artist, but in the end Aubrey Sitterson and Ivan Anya popped to the top of their respective groups and their short story collaboration is going to knock people out!\”

Sidle up to the bar, order an ale, and get ready to hear some tall tales! SKULLKICKERS #18 (JUL120516) will be in stores on September 26 and can be pre-ordered now.
